| Biography |
Dr. Allen joined the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at The University of Kansas as an Assistant Professor in August 1994.
Prior to joining the university, Dr. Allen was with the Allied Signal Kansas City Division were he was a Senior Staff Engineer and worked in the areas of high-speed digital design, radar systems analysis, and multi-chip module development. Prior to joining Allied Signal, he was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he successfully developed data handling systems, timing and control circuitry, direct digital waveform synthesis for advanced radar systems hardware with operating frequencies ranging from 100 MHz to 800 MHz. He also performed radar system design and analysis on a variety of programs.

Electronic circuits, Fiber optic communication systems, high-speed digital circuit design, and microwave remote sensing.

High-speed digital technologies and applications, Fiber optic communication systems, Lightwave/photonics systems and devices, Microwave remote sensing, Synthetic aperture, Radar design and analysis.
