Dr. Xue-wen Chen joined the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Kansas as an Assistant Professor with an emphasis in Bioinformatics in August 2003. His current research interests are in bioinformatics, machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining. Specifically, he works in novel computational methodologies for molecular biology and genetics, e.g., large scale data analysis and biological information extraction from high throughput microarray data and proteomics.
